MasonRVA has been quiet the past few months, but w/ the annual Alumni Charity Challenge in just over a month, I wanted to allow everyone to save dates for upcoming events. I will post details as they become available.
Stay tuned for more events including Happy Hours and Watch Parties to be posted soon! If you have any questions about events, feel free to email me at rob@masonrva.com. Hope to see you at an event soon!

Aug 7th 7-9:00pm – 2018 Richmond Student Sendoff @ Uptown Alley (map)
The Orientation and Family Programs and Services office in coordination with Admissions will be hosting a Summer Send–Off for entering Mason students in Richmond. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 7th from 7-9:00 pm at Uptown Alley. MasonRVA will be representing the alumni association to welcome the new incoming patriots and hand-out MasonRVA t-shirts to students and family members.
Aug 13th TBD – Patriot Club & MasonRVA @ Redskins Training Camp (map)
Mason AD Brad Edwards and Associate AD Darrell Green (both former Redskin players with a few Super Bowl rings) will be at Training Camp on Aug 13th and plans are in the works to coordinate schedules between Redskins practices, media opportunities, etc. We will post more details as they become available.
Sep 12th 5:30 – 8:30pm – Beat VCU! 6th Annual Alumni Charity Challenge @ Hardywood Park Craft Brewery (map)
MasonRVA won the challenge in 2013 & 2014 and we need support from all alumni to take back bragging rights! The Alumni Charity Challenge was established in 2013 by the VCU Alumni Richmond Chapter. During the past five years, the Alumni Charity Challenge has collected over 40 tons of canned goods with the support of over 30+ colleges from in-state and out-of-state. The Central Virginia Food Bank serves 31 counties and five cities, from the Northern Neck to Louisa County and south to the North Carolina border.
Oct 12 – 14 – Alumni Weekend @ George Mason University
Save the dates and plan a trip back to Fairfax to party with you Mason alumni friends from around the country that are not lucky enough to live in Richmond!
January 2019 TBD – Mason Lobbies and Legislative Reception
Personally, this is my favorite event of the year, not only because we get to talk about our favorite institution of higher learning to our representatives at the State Capitol, but because it is a great opportunity to meet and mentor students attending Mason today (future Mason Alumni). Due to the reconstruction of the legislative administrative building we may not get to visit representative w/ students this year, but Mason Alumni are always welcome to join President Cabrera and other Mason dignitaries (including some representatives who are Mason Alums) at the Legislative Reception. We will post details as we get closer to the date.
